1 Ph.D. Positions
There is one fully funded PhD positions available in the group. The position will be filled as soon as we find suitable candidates. PhD students are paid a competitive salary (according to TV-L E13 level).
Ideal start date: Flexible
Potential topics for the PhD research include:
Development of soft actuators and sensors
Study of nonlinear effects in soft structures
Study of multiphysics effects in soft materials systems
The ideal candidates have: a master's degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, cybernetics; a strong background in mechanics, materials science, or electrical engineering; an interest in both experimental and modeling work; curiosity to explore fundamental behavior of functional soft materials and to develop entirely new types of robotic systems.

Affiliation with the Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS): In the first year of their starting, PhD students in my group can apply for the IMPRS-IS (https://imprs.is.mpg.de/) to receive their PhD through a joint program with the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems.
